Weaves

A weave is a method of installing wefted hair extensions. At Heroine Hair Salon we offer 7 methods of weave installations which are all suitable for Afro, European and Asian hair styles. Read more to find out which method best suits you.

Weave with leaveout involves braiding the natural hair to create a base foundation to sew wefted extensions on to. A small portion of natural hair is left out to cover the middle or side parting.

Seamless weave with leaveout, similar to weave with leaveout but with added advantages!.  This method involves braiding the natural hair to create a base foundation to sew wefted extensions on to. In this method natural hair is left out round the perimeter and parting (middle or side). The tracks are sewn in to allow the hair to be worn in a medium to low bun without revealing any tracks.
Sew in tracks involves braiding natural hair into 3-6 rows in a uniform pattern throughout the hair, then sewing wefted hair extensions on to them. This method allows the hair to be worn in almost any style and gives a natural finish.

Braidless Weave is a braidless method of installing tracks into the hair. The method involves using micros links to create a foundation, which wefted hair tracks are sewn on to. This method is great for wearing your hair in a high bun without the tracks being revealed.

Lace frontal weave is a full head weave were no natural hair is left out. Lace frontals are approximately 13 inches wide and 4 inches deep, they are used to mimic a natural hair line. The method involves using a lace frontal hair piece along the hair line, then sewing approximately 2 - 21/2 bundles of wefted extensions behind it. For best results lace frontals should be glued in front of the hair line.

Lace closure weave is a full head weave were no natural hair is left out. Lace closures are approximately 3 inches wide and and 4 inches deep, they are used to mimic a natural parting. This method involves using a lace closure hair piece in the area you wish to have a parting, then sewing approximately 2 1/2 - 3 bundles of wefted hair extensions behind it.

Sew in tracks is method to create a partial weave to add volume and length to your natural hair. 3-6 braids are done leaving spaces in-between where your natural hair will fall. Wefted tracks of hair is then sewn on to the braid. This style allows your hair to be work up in a bun. 

Hair Extensions 

Tape-in extensions use double sided tape to attach a small panel of hair extension to your natural hair. For a full head look a minimum of 40 tapes are required. Tape extensions are good for adding volume to thin hair. Its important to purchase hair that is the same colour and texture as your natural hair to ensure a seamless blend. Micro-loops / I-Tips are a strand by strand method of installing extensions. They involve using a micro ring to hold the hair in place. A pair of pliers are used to close the micro ring and seal it to the hair. This method is strongly advised for thin hair. Its important to purchase hair that is the same colour and texture as your natural hair to ensure a seamless blend. Please book in for a hair extension consultation for a colour match.

Clip ins are wefted hair extensions which contain a small clips. A section of your hair will be parted then backcombed. A row of extensions will then be securely clipped in. These can be removed daily and replied, they can also be worn for longer periods of time. Its important to purchase hair that is the same colour and texture as your natural hair to ensure a seamless blend.

Micro-weft extensions are completely braid, thread, heat and glue free. This method involves attaching wefted extensions to the hair with only micro rings The weft is sandwiched in-between your hair, several micro rings are applied then a pair of pliers are used to close the ring and seal the hair. Wigs 

Lace frontal wig is a full head wig. Lace frontals are approximately 13 inches wide and 4 inches deep, they are used to mimic a natural hair line. U-Part wig/ half wig is a partial wig. Wefted hair extensions are sewn on to a wig cap. This method allows you to blend your natural hair with hair extensions. This type of wig can be sewn on to the head or clips can be applied to make it detachable.
